Marzocchi Shiver DC 2003 Review
2003 Marzocchi Shiver DC Review

Notes: This fork came fitted to my 2003 Kona Stab Primo, which is a pretty heavy downhill race bike, so while this is a heavy front shock it served to balance this bike out nicely.

Good Points (Out of Five)

+++++ Incredibly forgiving, on big hits
+++ Handles high-speed bumps well without jacking up
.
Bad Points (Out of Five)
--- A bit on the heavy side. You may need to hit the gym before you can bunny hop with this sucker.
    -- It's a bit lazy for sprinting.

Comments: Also known as "Saint Shiver," this fork will save your arse and leave you feeling like a criminal with the bad lines and landings you can get away with. It took me a bit of messing around with the rear shock to allow for the weight and to avoid nose diving, but once set up it's great.

I have always liked Marzocchi and still have an ancient 4"-travel Junior T on my hard tail that has hardly needed any maintenance -- despite being thoroughly abused for the past three years... and I bought it second hand!! Marzocchi sure know how to make stuff that lasts.

Ideal User: Anyone going big and pushing the limits, or anyone who gets it wrong every second jump and needs a life saver.

Don't Do It: If you have stick arms or if your style is more finesse than balls-out blasting.
