We are in the process of confirming your booking.

We have now received your details and are processing you payment, please be patient. Once this is complete we will send booking confirmation straight to your email (during office hours).

What we provide

First and foremost, all survivors of the ride get:

  • A free beer at the bottom of the ride
  • The world-famous GRAVITY t-shirt!
  • A link with over 100 photos of you on your ride
  • Water and snacks
  • The Gravity buff
  • A late-lunch homemade pasta and salad buffet at the bottom
  • Hot showers (including soap, shampoo, and a towel).

and, of course, all the safety gear mandatory for the road.

Odds and Ends

To make your day most comfortable, don’t forget to pack your sunscreen (30 SPF or higher), insect repellent with low DEET content (the Yungas is not a malarial zone, but you may encounter pesky sand flies; please do consider that DEET is not good for the rescued animals at the refuge where we finish the WMDR ride), a small camera that you can ride with (but remember, we’ll be taking lots of photos of you during the ride, so decide ahead of time whether you wish to risk trashing your camera). IF YOU BRING ALL THE ABOVE ITEMS, YOU WILL BE COMFORTABLE DURING YOUR DAY OUT WITH US. IF YOU DON’T, YOU WON’T. You have been warned…

What you should bring

Please bring lots and lots of layers of clothing. Remember, it’s freezing at the top of most of our rides, and really warm at the bottom! So bring:

  • T-shirts, thermals, a fleece
  • Waterproof jackets
  • Glove liners for under or over the provided downhill cycling gloves.

You’ll need to start the ride with long trousers, but on some days you can expect to change into shorts and a t-shirt towards the bottom.

  • We don’t allow you to wear sandals during the ride, but anything from trainers to hiking boots will do.
  • Make sure you’ve got a good pair of sporty UVA-UVB sunglasses, both for ray protection and to help keep the dust and grit out of your eyes.
  • Cash for any entrance fees or to buy extras.
  • A parachute wouldn’t be a bad idea either (just checking to see if you are actually reading this).

Note: You cannot ride with a backpack on the WMDR ride for safety/visibility reasons, but you can always leave your backpack on the support vehicle from Gravity that will be following the group all day. Anyone returning from WMDR with us on the day of the ride should bring a change of clothes, including shoes. You get wet and dirty on these rides!

Meeting Spot

Please be attentive to your email as we will establish a meeting point and time specifically for you. You can also contact info@gravitybolivia.com or contact +591 772 19634

Please Take Note

Please note that the Municipality of Coroico has introduced a small charge (currently bs. 25 in two stops) for bikers riding down The World’s Most Dangerous Road. The money raised from this entrance fee will be used to fund much needed infrastructure projects such as: Clean public toilets on the route, Road maintenance (since the road is not used by much traffic now, without this fee it could be closed without maintenance), and safety, emergency and rescue facilities Gravity Assisted Mountain Biking is working closely with the Coroico authorities to ensure that this money goes where it is needed.

PLEASE BRING 50 Bolivianos in CORRECT CHANGE on your ride. This money will be collected by an official from the region during the day, and you will receive a legal receipt/souvenir in exchange. Thank you for your understanding.

AFTER THE RIDE: We finish the ride at an animal refuge called La Senda Verde www.sendaverde.org It is an amazing place where the animals have been rescued from the illegal pet trade. If you have time to spare you might want to consider spending the night here. (Notice that the price of Gravity does not include accommodation at La Senda Verde) Or alternatively going up the hill to Coroico (we will pay the taxi for you) and spend some extra time in the lovely village and tropical climate. From Coroico you can catch the bus to Rurrenabaque (the Bolivian Amazon! The bus takes about 15 hours) or back to La Paz (3 hours).

Cancellation Policy

These reflect the cost to us of your cancellation and, in particular, the fact that if you cancel at the last minute we will not be able to fill your place on the tour (but we still need to pay our guides, mechanics, transport, etc.):

  • 100% Refund or modification 24 hours before the trip (07:30 am – Bolivian Time)
  • Within 24 hours of the trip or on the day of the trip 0% refund.

In all such circumstances, we can provide a “Cancellation Fee Receipt” that may be able to be used to claim this penalty back from your travel or medical insurance. If you are planning other things to do with your time in La Paz, we can make the following recommendations:

Another Bike Ride!  – From half day ramblers to hardcore single track, if you love your first ride take advantage of a discount on another ride!

City Tour – La Paz is an amazing place full of hidden gems.  So, make the most of your time here and take a city tour by Red Cap.  Foodie tours, city walking tours, pub crawl and more. Don’t just visit the city, know it!

Urban Rush – Get your adrenaline dosage in the city center by rappelling out of one of La Paz’s highest buildings dressed as your favorite superhero.  Yes. It’s as awesome as it sounds.

Zzip the flying fox – At the end of your death road ride, finish the best way possible by flying on a 1.5km zipline over 400 meters above the valley!

Love snowboarding? Then you have to do this!  While snowboarding is very difficult and dangerous in Bolivia, our passion for riding led us to start boarding on scree.  This sand like high-altitude dust is fantastic for carving lines down giant mountains at over 5000m! A new must-do!
