• 3050m (10,000 ft) of vertical descent, with jeep shuttles and repeating some of the most exciting parts in order to hit them even harder.
• Incredible mountain scenery of the Illampu and Jancahuma massifs, as well as passing through authentic Bolivian rural life, fields and villages.
• 1- ,2- , or 3-day options.
Not for those with ZERO mountain biking experience, as less experienced singletrack riders would find these trails intimidating. You should know how to do jumps and be comfortable with technical singletrack, at a minimum. A must do for an MTB holiday in South America!
Gravity offers rides from one to three days in the Sorata area, and we promise these will be some of the most spectacular, grin-inducing rides you ever go on.
We will meet up at 7:30am at the Gravity Workshop in La Paz, Bolivia. After getting fitted for protective gear, we will begin our scenic drive to Sorata, about 3.5 hours away. The idyllic mountain town of Sorata lies in the center of a myriad of fantastic biking trails for the intermediate+ rider.
The rides in the area feature unbelievably long stretches of flowing downhill singletrack as well as a variety of natural and man-made stunts of varying levels. We will explore the different riding options and stop to practice and repeat various sections in order to push our skills under the guidance and coaching of the Gravity guides as well as using this as an opportunity to get some great photos.
All of the rides feature 2000m or so of vertical altitude loss; each run is shuttled by jeep. There are harder options, including big jumps and gnarly near-vertical skree slopes, to flowy singletrack and everything in between on these diverse mtb trails.
At the end of our first day (for multiple-day rides only), we go back to the Altai Oasis, a beautiful eco-lodge where you can have dinner and relax before the continuation of the ride, early the next morning.
